Kamulu Cultural Day: Celebrating the Day of the African Child

The Day of the African Child was organized to honor, celebrate, and promote African children’s rights. At Rophine Kamulu Campus, we embraced this event by emphasizing our children’s right to participate, be children, and enjoy movement and laughter. It was a day for them to be seen and heard and to explore their talents.

This year, with the honored support of our directors and executive leaders, Rophine Kamulu Campus parents, learners, and the Rophine family gathered at the Kasarani Sports View Hotel to celebrate Kamulu Cultural Day. We were privileged to have guest honors from the entertainment industry, specifically the Laugh Industry Company, with the renowned Sleepy David as our MC. Through this, we hope to show our learners that their talents matter and to provide examples of people who have made successful careers from their passions.

Celebrating the African child also means providing equity and equality in education. Equity ensures every child has access to the necessary resources and opportunities to thrive, regardless of their challenges. Conversely, equality demands fair treatment and opportunities for every child without discrimination or bias. Our brand at Rophine promises NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND. We seek solutions to break the academic poverty cycle and contribute positively to our communities. Organizing events like our Rophine Kamulu Cultural Day brings the Rophine experience to life and empowers our learners even outside the classrooms. The partners we collaborate with align with our values and provide larger platforms for our children to explore their talents even after the event has ended.

Sports Days: Unleashing Determination – Eyes on the Prize

Our sports days have been another highlight of this term. They began with the Kamulu and Kindergarten sports day and were followed by the Main School and Junior Secondary sports day, held at the Ulinzi Sports Complex. These events were graced by guests of honor who, again, serve as excellent role models for our learners.

The theme for both sports days was “Unleashing Determination – Eyes on the Prize,” reflecting our belief in fostering a spirit of perseverance and goal-setting among our students. Through various sports activities, our learners showcased their physical talents and learned the values of teamwork, discipline, and resilience.
