How Rophine Turned Sports, Compassion, and Community into Lifesaving Care
Friday, 29th January 2026
On Friday, compassion met action as Rophine Field Group of Schools officially handed over CSR merchandise to Msambweni Teaching and Referral Hospital, marking the powerful culmination of an annual CSR cycle that continues to transform lives across Kwale County—and Kenya at large.
The event—graced by H.E. Deputy Governor Chirema Kombo and flanked by CEC Health, Mr. Francis Gwama—was far more than a ceremonial handover. It was a bold statement of intent, partnership, and shared responsibility for the future of the child.
“This is a unique model of development,” said Deputy Governor Kombo. “Rophine is growing children in the classroom while also safeguarding their health beyond the school gates. That is how you raise a complete child.”
A CSR with a Heartbeat
At the centre of Rophine’s CSR philosophy is a simple yet powerful mantra: No Child Left Behind. Every October, the school community comes together in Diani and Nairobi for a vibrant fundraiser dedicated to equipping paediatric centres while nurturing children emotionally, socially, and physically.

The most recent edition—themed Sports for a Cause—saw parents, learners, and staff trade formality for fun, bonding through games, laughter, and shared purpose—proving that impact can be joyful.
“It was joy with purpose,” noted one parent. “We played, we laughed, and we gave back.”
Strengthening Health Systems, One Partnership at a Time
With over 177 health centres in Kwale County, the impact of the Diani CSR initiative is already being felt. The county will now offer free ambulance services, even as it explores new partnerships to further enhance theatre and emergency care services at Msambweni Teaching and Referral Hospital.
CEC Health Mr. Francis Gwama underscored the significance of the collaboration:
“Rophine is a true friend of the county. This timely gesture will greatly enhance our diagnostic capacity and overall service delivery.”
A Vision for a Global Child
Reaffirming the school’s long-term commitment, Dr. Boniface, Group CEO of Rophine Field Group of Schools, pledged continued support for both health and education through purposeful and sustainable corporate social initiatives.
“Our goal is simple,” he said. “To see the Kwale child grow into a global child—healthy, confident, and ready to compete on the world stage.”

The Madam Director echoed this sentiment, applauding the unwavering support of Kwale residents:
“For two years, the people of Kwale have believed in the Rophine dream. This journey has only been possible because the community continues to walk with us.”

A Promise Beyond the Podium
In a final assurance, Deputy Governor Kombo committed to safeguarding a serene, secure, and supportive environment around Rophine institutions, urging residents to embrace the school as a trusted partner in raising a holistic child.
“When education and health walk together,” he concluded, “the future walks taller.”
Seventeen years on, Rophine’s CSR continues to touch hearts, strengthen systems, and change stories—one October, one child, and one community at a time.
