Rophine Field Group of Schools to Host “The Great Debate” Leadership Summit 2026
Nairobi, Kenya – March 2026 — The Rophine Field Group of Schools is set to host its highly anticipated Leadership Summit: The Great Debate on 21st March 2026, bringing together student leaders and young thinkers from across its campuses for a dynamic, intellectually engaging event.
Under the theme “Staging Global Voices,” this year’s summit aims to empower learners with the critical skills needed to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world. The event will provide a platform for students to develop critical thinking, effective communication, and the ability to engage with diverse perspectives—key competencies for modern leadership.
The summit will feature participation from all Rophine campuses, including Kamulu, Diani, Main Campus – Utawala, International Campus, and Senior School, with each campus represented by a team of learners competing across a range of academic and leadership-focused activities.
At the heart of the event is The Great Debate, where students will engage in structured parliamentary-style debates on contemporary global issues such as artificial intelligence in education, climate change, and societal development. These sessions are designed to challenge participants to construct well-reasoned arguments, respond to opposing views, and articulate their ideas with confidence.
In addition to debates, the summit will include public speaking competitions, where learners will address topics related to youth leadership, global citizenship, and societal responsibility, as well as a spelling bee competition aimed at enhancing language proficiency among younger participants.
The event will be conducted in multiple stages, beginning with preliminary rounds in breakout sessions and culminating in final presentations in a central amphitheatre setting. A panel of judges comprising educators, parents, and experienced facilitators will evaluate participants based on content, style, and strategic delivery.
The summit will conclude with an awards ceremony, recognizing outstanding performance in categories such as Best Debate Team, Best Public Speaker, Best Individual Debater, and the Overall Leadership Excellence Award.
Speaking ahead of the event, organizers emphasized the summit’s broader mission: to create a space where young people can exchange ideas, engage in meaningful dialogue, and develop into confident, globally aware leaders.
The Rophine Leadership Summit continues to position itself as a leading platform for student leadership development in Kenya, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and forward-thinking among learners.
