Welcome to the Rophine Field Group of Schools – Senior School

In January 2026, schools are expected to receive the first cohort of seniors in the CBE curriculum. These are learners between the ages of 15 and 17, basically our high schoolers.

However, unlike the 8-4-4 system, CBE transitions learners from junior school to senior school, grades 10 to 12, after successfully acquiring placement for their career pathways. These are:

  1. Social Sciences/Humanities
  2. STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics)
  3. Arts and Sports Science

Learners will be expected to sit for the Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) assessments (summative) and school-based assessments (formative), which also include personal interest activities.

CBE was developed to be a more holistic approach to education. With the changes being implemented in CBE, we might assume that the ministry saw no significant difference between it and the previous 8-4-4.

As Hon. Bitek said, “The future of our children’s education rests squarely on our collective shoulders,” which is why we need to continue collaborating and auditing our approach to education to fit the changing economy and state of affairs not only of Kenya but the world around us.

In addition to academic achievements, schools were mandated to incorporate activities and grounds that considered the learners’ personal and recreational interests. Although this is not mandatory, with the curriculum allowing senior schools to either do double pathways or triple pathways, as the Rophine Field Group of Schools, we hold the belief that an academic environment, as much as it can, should encompass and cater for all the needs of the learner.

It is with this vision that we are building our senior school. As we break ground today, we bring Kenyan educational standards to another all-time high with a campus that removes boundaries. The goal of the Rophine field senior schools is to encompass the national curriculum framework.

How The Rophine Field Senior School Supports and Adds to the Learner’s Academic Experience

We continue in our dedication to offer world-class academic standards in our national curriculum with the facilitators we employ and the recommended pedagogy we take.

When you think of educational architecture, the first things that pop up in your mind might be neatly lined rows of desks, beige walls, and traditional hallways.

Although this works, we aim to provide learners with a strong academic foundation and promote essential mindsets and habits for success in school and life. To do this, we tweak simple designs to create a learning space that encourages growth upward and outward.

More open spaces with large windows and bright colors. Doesn’t pink make you want to smile even on drab, gloomy days? The Rophine senior school cranks up creativity with color, similar to our other campuses; this campus is designed to promote peer-to-peer collaboration and learning. By widening our classes and hallways, we encourage mobility and accessibility.

Our school facilities, especially the spaces designed to support Arts and Sports Science and the sciences, have been improved to streamline academic and enrichment activities. Gaining admission to Rophine Senior School allows each learner in the sports science pathway access to our sports academy program.

For the learners interested in pro-football, Rophine has lined up Coach Francis Kimanzi, the FKF Football Director, to personally train the team, alongside Zedekiah Otieno (Gor Mahia Assistant Coach). Those looking to be pro-swimmers can join the Rophine Aqua Stars and get world-class training with coach Collins Marigiri, who is the Kenya Aquatics Secretary General.

We also provide professional training for learners interested in Basketball as a career under the sports science pathway. Interactions with the coaches will be on the field and grounded learning to equip the learners with the skills necessary to be a professional in the sports arena nationally and globally.

Parents, as critical stakeholders, must engage with their learners during this period to find out the pathways that suit their children best. This new curriculum is designed to reverse the mentality of 8-4-4, which made many of us believe that our fates were sealed by the scores we got after the tests.

As educators, we must remain global; we must remain relevant to the times, and we must be sustainable to all. This is an exciting period for us as the Rophine Field Group of Schools, and we hope it is exciting for all stakeholders. Welcome to the beginning of the Rophine field group of schools – senior school.

You asked, we listened. Welcome to Rophine Field Senior School.
